"Call forwarding is unreliable"
I wanted to give this a fair shot, and when it works it's useful, but the call forwarding has been really inconsistent for me. A lot of calls either don’t forward at all or only seem to go through some of the time. I’m hoping it gets fixed because the feature itself would be great if it were dependable

I tried to port my number out and the whole thing just dragged on way longer than it should have. Every time I reached out to support, I got vague updates that didn’t really explain anything. the whole process was ridiculous and super frustrating. I won’t be using Grasshopper again.

"Didn’t quite work for my little shop"
I was really hoping this would be a simple fit for my small shop, but once I started using it I kept running into little things we needed that just weren’t there, and after trying to work around the missing basic features for a while it ended up feeling more limited than helpful.

It’s been up pretty much all the time for me. There was one small outage, but it hasn’t been a big deal overall.

"Voicemail is fine, but the transcription is kind of hit or miss"
The voicemail part works okay and I do get my messages, so that’s fine. But the transcriptions miss words often or come out a little weird. I end up having to listen to the actual voicemail anyway, so this feature isn’t as helpful as I was hoping.

"Didn’t feel as professional as I expected"
I tried Grasshopper a while back, maybe around late spring or early summer, because I wanted my small business to come across a little more polished. It wasn’t terrible, but the setup felt kind of clunky to me, and getting the call flow how I wanted took more messing around than I expected. The greetings also sounded a bit awkward, so instead of giving off a professional vibe, it just felt a little off. I ended up feeling like it didn’t really match what I was hoping for.

"Feels overpriced to me"
I’m not sure if others are getting more out of it than I did, but I just couldn’t justify the monthly price. For what it offers, it felt a bit too expensive to be worth keeping

"Texting has been a hassle"
Grasshopper is fine for calls, but the texting part has been frustrating. I’m usually trying to respond to customers quickly, and sometimes messages show up late or the app just feels clunky when I’m in a hurry. I’ve already missed a few customer texts because of it, which is a real problem for me.

"Setup took longer than I expected"
Getting it set up was kind of annoying. I thought it would be quick, but it ended up taking me way longer than it should have, and I kept running into little things that weren't super clear. It works now, but yeah.....

"Heads up: the desktop app is painfully slow"
I use Grasshopper for work calls pretty much every day, so I really need the desktop app to be reliable. Lately though, it’s been more of a headache than a help.
It takes ages to open, freezes up during calls, and I’ve had the ringtone keep blaring even after I already answered on another device. The audio also cuts in and out often enough that it makes normal calls frustrating.
I tried the usual fixes like restarting and reinstalling, but nothing really changed. Just a warning if you depend on it for work calls: the desktop app feels way too clunky right now, and I wouldn’t count on it being smooth.
"Support felt slow and robotic"
I tried reaching out to support twice and ended up waiting days for a response each time. When they finally got back to me, the replies felt like they were written by robots answering emails, not actual people trying to help. I never really got a clear answer and mostly just felt ignored. it wasn’t worth the hassle

"Way too confusing to get started"
I tried using it and felt lost right from the beginning. Nothing was clear, and I didn’t want to waste time contacting customer service because I usually don’t trust them to actually fix anything. Just way more frustrating than it should be.

"Canceling was way more annoying than it should’ve been"
I tried to cancel Grasshopper and somehow still got billed afterward. Support took forever to respond, and I kept having to explain the same issue over and over like nobody was actually reading what I wrote. It wasn’t a huge amount of money, but it was frustrating because I had already stopped using the service. i felt kind of stupid for trusting that the cancellation would be handled properly. The whole process should be a lot simpler than this.

"Decent account settings, but not as easy as some others"
Managing my account on Grasshopper was generally okay, but a few settings felt more tucked away than they should be. Billing was clear once I found it, but it took me longer than expected to get to what I needed. Compared to some other services I’ve used, the layout just isn’t quite as straightforward...

"Calls kept dropping and sounding rough"
I used Grasshopper for my small business line, it just wasn’t reliable for me. Calls would get all robotic, cut in and out, or just drop completely. I’d be talking to a customer and then—actually, no, sometimes I wouldn’t even get the chance because they’d say they called and it never rang on my end.
Support gave me a few basic things to try, but nothing really improved. I can deal with the occasional hiccup, but when phone calls are the main reason I’m paying for the service, that’s a big problem. I ended up switching because I just couldn’t trust it anymore.
